Orrell & District Quiz League

The Robin Hood have played in the Ormskirk and District Quiz league for about 20 years . Due to various things over the years we now find ourselves with just 4 members for the oncoming season which is just not feasable . If anyone playing in Orrell would like to come and join us you would be made most welcome, Home matches are on a Monday  and the league starts on the 9th September .If you are interested please give me a ring 01942 519375 Arthur

Due to the present economic climate, St Teresa's club is shutting on Tuesday nights, so the team are moving to the Britannia at Hall Green, Upholland. The first game at the Britannia will be against Park Lane on Tuesday 28th May. 

We urgently need spare quizzes in case of cancellations. If you have one to hand could you submit the quiz asap to Arthur Penny at 4 Cross Lane, Billinge, WN5 7DB.  Please remember it is in league rules if you ask for a cancellation you must set a quiz to replace the one used, otherwise we can ask the question setters to do one for us and you will be charged their fee - at present this is £25.

The Quiz League of London will be running a buzzer quiz tournament on Saturday 21 September.  Registration opens on their website on 13 May.

Judging by last year, the available places are likely to be taken up quickly.

A spare set of questions is held at the Upholland Conservative Club.  If your set has not arrived on match day, please contact the club to check that a spare set is available.

Victory Television, makers of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?", are looking for contestants to take part in a brand new Channel 4 game show.

The fixtures for the first part of the season have been released.  These can be found in the Fixtures Calendar starting on 9th April 2013.

Each team's fixtures can also be sen on the team's individual page.  These will be updated with the scores of the relevant matches as and when they are available.

Are you good at General Knowledge?  Are you good at knowing when you're right..., but also when you're wrong?  Can you also keep track of how you've done?

If so, the BBC are looking for confident, outgoing individuals to take part in the pilot for a new BBC quiz show.  In the game you can know or not know the answer, but what is important is knowing the difference.
