Pairs Competition and Presentation Evening

The Pairs and Presentation night this year will once again be held at Highfield CH on Thursday 12th November 8:00 pm Start 

Last year we saw a very good turnout for this event and would hope to do as well or better this time around.

We look forward to another enjoyable evening in what will be our final event of 2026

End of Season

At the endo of the 2026 League season, the league title was won by The Cricketers with only a single loss all season.

The Handicap League was won by Bryn Community Club, with a narrow one point win over Highfield.

Sad News - Sue Perks

It is with great sadness that we have to inform league members of the death of long time player Sue Perks of the Delph Taverners.  

Sue’s funeral will be held at 1pm on Monday 13th July at St. Luke’s Church, Orrell, then Wigan crematorium at 2pm and then back to the Delph Tavern.

Masons Arms - Reminder

Please be reminded that games at the Masons Arms must start by 8.30pm at the latest, as the pub closes at 10pm.

These are the handicaps for the first and second parts of the new season. They are based on mean points difference from the final league table. They will apply for the first 7 games after which they will be adjusted.

2026 Season Fixtures

Colin Shaw - Sad News

It is with sadness that we must inform everybody that Colin Shaw, long time League Secretary and captain of the UCC Blues team, died last Tuesday.  His funeral service will be held at St Helens Crematorium 1t 3.30pm on Monday 15th December.  All are welcome to attend.

2025 Presentation Night and Pairs Competition

The League's annual Presentation Night took place at Highfield Community Hall on Thursday 6th November 2025.

30 players entered the Pairs competition, with the pairings drawn randomly on the night.  After a 40 question qualifying quiz, the 6 top scoring pairs then entered a "15 to 1" style competition.  When the first three pairs had lost their three lives, the remaining three pairs became the finalists.

After a break for refreshments, the competition re-commenced with the pairs shown below:

After a keenly contested final the eventual winners were Jenny and Charles.
